Hah… Total of 9 hours flight from Brunei - KLIA - Japan ! It’s so tiring… i can’t really sleep well on the plane. Upon arrival at Narita Airport, we have a short Tokyo City Tour then proceed to visit the oldest and most impressive temple in Tokyo - Asakusa Kannon Temple.

Poor old man sleeping at the street….

The Asakusa Temple is a favorite place to visit for out of towners and foreigners. On the day of our visit there were many school chidren on class trips. The temple is dedicated to the Kannon or Godness of Mercy, said to be founded in the 7th century.

A fountain with many ladles where people cleanse their hands and rinse their mouths before entering the temple. This washes away any impurities. We are not suppose to rinse our hand directly to the fountain. Its impolite. We need to use the ladles provided to get the water and pour to our hands. The water flows out from the mouth of the dragon can be drink.

Bronze incense burner, where worshipers wave smoke over their bodies to heal or prevent illness.

A five storied pagoda, Asakusa Shrine

Nakamise Street, the long narrow approach, to the temple is lined with small souvenir shops and foods.
